Dear Parents/Carers,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to welcome you to the Birdwell Primary School community.  We look forward to welcoming you into school as soon as possible and meeting you all face to face.

Under normal circumstances, Birdwell Primary has a comprehensive package of transition activities and meetings to help our youngest children, and their families, settle as quickly as possible into school life.  We appreciate that the current national situation can make things seem uncertain for you all.  We just wanted to reassure you that we are already sketching out plans to respond to an ever-changing situation and ensure we meet the needs of all our children.

As such, it may mean that our usual transition could just be delayed, depending on current restrictions being eased, or we may need to put into place some of our more creative plans.  Please be assured that we are considering all options carefully and will keep in contact with you.

If you have any queries, please use d.sykes@birdwellprimary.org.uk  and your email will be directed to the relevant member of staff.  Please bear with us when waiting for a response; as I’m sure you can appreciate, normal working patterns have had to be adapted slightly but we will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as possible.

If you are entirely new to school, it would be incredibly useful if you could also email us with contact phone numbers and email addresses so that we can be proactive keeping in touch with you.

Kindest regards,

Mr Bailey                                        Miss Holly Carter                         Julie Wright
